Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.
Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.
An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.
Requirement of original content:
Authors interested in submitting research should download the originality statement format, providing all required information, including details of all authors if applicable. See the Format for originality, rights and level of collaboration for more details.
Citation and referencing standards:
Journal of Economic and Social Science Research uses the citation standards of the American Psychological Association (APA), 7th edition, a widely accepted regional, national, and international standard. For more information, visit: https://apastyle.apa.org/.
Formal aspects:
- Manuscripts should be between 10 and 25 pages, including title page, abstract, graphs, photographs, illustrations, bibliographical references, and appendices.
- The document should be sent in Word format (doc or docx), on A4 paper, with 2.5 cm margins, Arial font size 12, 1.15 line spacing, no space between paragraphs and no indentation, and justified text.
- Pages should be numbered in the lower right corner with Arabic numerals.
- Tables and graphs should be numbered, titled and cited according to APA 7th edition standards, and may be inserted in the body of the text.
- Bold or underlined text is not allowed in the body of the text. Italics may be used for relevant terms or words in another language.
- Titles of books and journals should be italicized, and acronyms should be mentioned the first time in parentheses.
- URLs should be provided if available.
Editorial aspects:
The text should take care of semantics, grammar and spelling in Spanish or English. It is recommended to use the third person singular to maintain an impersonal tone in the wording.
Aspects of legality:
It is essential to respect copyrights, correctly citing paraphrased or textual sources, in order to avoid plagiarism problems. If plagiarism or self-plagiarism is detected, the article will be rejected. Only original papers will be accepted for publication.
Ethical Conduct - Code of Ethics:
Authors, reviewers, readers, and committee members are invited to act with the highest standards of professional ethics, in accordance with the requirements of the international scientific community. In addition, Journal of Economic and Social Science Research adheres to globally recognized codes of ethics, such as the Code of Conduct and Best Practices Guidelines for Journal Editors of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) [https://publicationethics.org], the guidelines of the Council of Science Editors [http://www.councilscienceeditors.org], and the regulations of the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences (CIOMS) [http://cioms.ch] and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) [http://www.icmje.org].
Plagiarism detection policy:
Journal of Economic and Social Science Research strongly rejects plagiarism and fraudulent practices. For this reason, all contributions submitted for publication will undergo originality analysis before proceeding with peer review.
If any type of fraud is detected, the manuscript will be withdrawn from the editorial process and the author will be notified of the decision.
When plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or other transgression of the ethical standards of scientific publication is detected, JESSR will take the following actions:
- Immediate rejection of the article.
- Communication to the author(s) about the detected infraction (plagiarism, self-plagiarism or situation).
Researchers are urged to properly cite original sources when using their content. To guarantee the quality and originality of the papers, all contributions will be verified using Turnitin software.
In addition, the journal follows the Code of Conduct and Best Practices defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), which guarantees respect for ethical principles and the quality of published articles.
Journal of Economic and Social Science Research reserves the right to use Turnitin software at any stage of the publication process to evaluate submitted and published papers.
Peer Review
All manuscripts received will be sent to 2 external peers for review along with the scientific article evaluation and refereeing instrument (Review Template). Once reviewed by the external peers, the decision issued will be respected and the authors will be notified if the paper has been accepted without modifications, accepted with modifications or not accepted.
In order to avoid bias, the evaluation of the article will be anonymous in double route, that is, the reviewer will not know to whom the work belongs and the author will not know who reviewed it, for this reason the editorial committee must guarantee this process.
Once the final result of the peer review is issued and corrections have been corrected if necessary, the editorial committee makes the final decision to accept or not the articles for publication and will be in charge of the layout, finally it will be sent to the editor in chief to authorize its publication in the journal's web page.
Authorship: The list of authors should include only those persons who have contributed intellectually to the development of the work. Collaboration in data collection is not, by itself, a sufficient criterion for authorship. Journal of Economic and Social Science Research declines all responsibility for possible conflicts arising from the authorship of the papers published.
